Welcome to the
PAMPLIN COLLECTION’S 2012 CATALOg
We are pleased to share with you the
2012 catalog of the Pamplin Collection.
We have selected just a few dozen of the 106,200 objects from this constantly growing assemblage of artistic masterpieces and iconic artifacts of history from Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Many more hundreds of pieces are accessible for viewing through the Collection’s website, www.pamplincollection.org, which we invite you to visit. While objects from the Pamplin Collection are no longer available for loan, guests are occasionally invited to visit the Collection’s annual exhibit, which is illustrated in our website. Further, the Collection’s curators are available to visit museums to present objects from our holdings.
The Pamplin Collection is divided
into sections: Chinese, American Fine Art, European Fine Art, Illustrations, Photographs and Prints, Posters, Furniture, Western Art, American Indian, George Washington, Civil War, Wild West, Weapons, and Military History. Within each of these sections, we also have several categories, based on theme and chronology.
We hope you enjoy this 2012 overview of one of the nation’s great private collections of art and history.
