handle. John Slaughter was
a Civil War veteran, Texas
Ranger, sheriff, Arizona state
legislator, and gambler.
Recognized for “cleaning
up” the Arizona Territory
and admired by Bill Hickok,
Wyatt Earp, Billy the Kid,
and Pat Garrett,
