THE PAMPLIN COLLECTION: CHINESE
The Ming vase posses a very rare color combination, known as Fa Hua, applied to a shape that is very dif cult to execute well and is known as a mei ping. Mei ping vases were made to hold the rst blossoms of spring, and were typically produced with a glaze of celadon or decorated in underglaze blue and white motifs.
The bronze projectile points (arrow heads) were taken from a battle eld where the Chinese and the Mongols—long before the era of consolidation led by Genghis Khan—did battle. These triangular points were made about 300 BCE.
