

Pair of Liao dynasty bronze funerary masks. Full size masks, one with remnants of fabric. That burial cloth has absorbed some of the minerals from the bronze, making it semi-metallic. These masks have been held in a private collection of international art for over 20 years.




Ming dynasty reticulated Fahua vase. Different motifs are illustrated on the front and on the back. This specimen has been held in a private collection of international art for over 10 years.






Bronze wine storage jar with original lid. Warring States period. Exhibited at the Portland Art Museum and in private museum showings. Some of the decorative elements of this fanghu date back to much earlier times.


Ming dynasty bowl. Mark and period of Xuande. Great control of the red and the cobalt glazes. White interior. As Xuande was a potter, it is interesting that he ordered a bowl with the two colors most difficult to control during firing.
